Water Level Information

The Otonabee Region Conservation Authority (Otonabee Conservation) maintains a comprehensive program of water level monitoring which involves the measurement of flows and water levels throughout the watershed region.

Staff access information on a daily basis from 9 automated river gauges and 7 automated precipitation gauges, as well as 2 snow survey courses (during the winter months). Information is also available to staff from the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment Canada.

The daily review of water level information relative to existing conditions, is used to determine the status of watershed conditions, whether they be normal, or are in a low water or flood condition.
