DONOR TRUST

To the members of the Otonabee Region watershed community:
It can be disturbing to hear, from time to time, about excessive administrative and fundraising expenses of some Canadian charities.
Rest assured that the Otonabee Region Conservation Foundation's practices are consistent with the Donor Bill of Rights. Our door is always open, our operations are transparent and the Otonabee Region Conservation Foundation definitely does not solicit donations through professional telemarketing services. We are happy to respond to inquiries from donors who are doing their due diligence as they decide where to place their charitable dollar and we operate in compliance with standards set by the Canada Revenue Agency. Our accountant reviewed financial statements and the minutes of our Board meetings are available upon request.
The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) regulates registered charities under the Income Tax Act and is committed to providing donors with relevant information. The CRA collects information from charities each year and posts it on its website for the public to access ( www.cra-arc.gc.ca, select Charities).
Donating to environmental organizations is more important than ever before. Thank you for choosing to be a part of the success and growth of the Otonabee Region Conservation Foundation and for helping us to continue the important work of restoring and protecting the Otonabee region watershed. Your gift is received with appreciation and managed with care.
Denyse Sanderson, ORCF Treasurer, and I are available to respond to any concerns, inquiries or even to accept your donation for this tax year. Tax receipts will be issued and mailed before January 12, 2008 for donations received in 2007 including those up to and including December 29th.
Sincerely,
John Good, President
