Meet the Sawyer of Hope Mill
The doors of the historic Hope Mill will be open to visitors every Sunday from July 5th to August 30th 2009, featuring demonstrations of the water-powered sawmill in operation and tours of the museum!
The Friends of Hope Mill Volunteers will welcome visitors between 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm and there will be a demonstration of the sawmill in operation throughout the afternoon. A brand new Children’s Workshop area opens in July! Admission is just $2.00.
“The Friends of Hope Mill have dedicated more than 8,000 to restoring this very significant heritage site. The Hope Mill is very unique in both Peterborough County and the province of Ontario. It is a fascinating place to visit and we welcome members of the community to the Hope Mill to get a sense of its history, charm and character,” explains Kathryn Campbell of the Friends of Hope Mill.
The Friends of Hope Mill and the Otonabee Region Conservation Foundation appreciate the support of the many community agencies and individuals who have contributed to the restoration of Hope Mill thus far!
