MILLEN ELECTED CONSERVATION CHAIR FOR 2009
Ron Millen, Reeve of Smith-Ennsimore-Lakefield was elected Chair of the Board of Directors of the Otonabee Region Conservation Authority for 2009. The Board elected Millen to his first term as Chair at the Annual Meeting of the Conservation Authority held last evening, February 19, 2009. Millen is the 16th Chair of the Board in the Conservation Authority’s 50-year history.
Terry Low, Past Chair of the Otonabee Region Conservation Authority and Ron Millen, elected Chair of the Board for 2009, congratulate Kim Duke, Administrative Assistant on 10 years of service to the Authority.
Sherry Senis, Councilor with the Municipality of Smith-Ennismore-Lakefield, was elected to her first term as Vice-Chair of the Conservation Authority.
Millen is pleased to announce the following municipal appointments to the Board of Directors for 2009:
- Township of Asphodel-Norwood: Terry Low (Deputy-Reeve)
- Township of Cavan-Monaghan: Brian Bartlett (Councilor)
- Township of Douro-Dummer: John Good (Citizen Appointment)
- Township of Smith-Ennismore-Lakefield: Sherry Senis (Councilor)
- Municipality of Trent Hills: Bill White (Councilor)
- Township of Otonabee-South Monaghan: David Nelson (Reeve)
- City of Kawartha Lakes: Stephen Strangway (Councilor)
- City of Peterborough: Bob Hall (Councilor),
Jack Doris (Councilor), and
Clayton Wade (Citizen Appointment)
Directors elected to the Executive Committee for 2009 include Ron Millen, Sherry Senis, Terry Low, Jack Doris, John Good and Bob Hall.
In 2009, the Board of Directors will meet the third Thursday of every month, unless otherwise notified. Members of the watershed community are invited to attend the meetings of the Board. The Board meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. and are held at the Otonabee Conservation Centre, located at 250 Milroy Drive, Peterborough.
