Annual Report to the Watershed Community

The Otonabee Region Conservation Authority (Otonabee Conservation) is one of Ontario’s 36 Conservation Authorities. We are a community based envirornmental protection agency that works closely with municipal, provincial and federal government partners, landowners and community groups to maintain and improve the natural resources in the Otonabee Region watershed.

Otonabee Conservation promotes an integrated watershed approach – one that balances human, environmental and economic needs. Our success is based on local initaitive, watershed jurisdiction and partnerships in resource management. The Authority engages many community partners and external funders to complete a variety of projects that visibly demonstrates the principles of cooperation, collaboration, customer service and public engagement.

In 2016 we completed a strategic planning exercise and released a new Strategic Plan and a new logo. The Strategic Plan articulates our values, vision and mission statement. It clarifies our goals and priorities and provides a framework for measuring our progress, results and success. This plan will guide our efforts over the next four years in addressing the challenges and realizing the opportunities ahead.

Our accomplishments for 2016 would not have been possible if it weren’t for the support of our member municipalities, our partners our dedicated staff and volunteers. Thank you to all for your support and encouragement. We hope you enjoy reading the 2016 Year in Review: Report to the Watershed Community.

Yours in conservation ~
