GOOD PRESIDENT OF CONSERVATION FOUNDATION
John Good, a recognized member in the conservation community, was re-elected President of the Board of Directors of the Otonabee Region Conservation Foundation for 2007-08. The Board unanimously supported Good during the 39th Annual Meeting of the Conservation Foundation held last evening [Wednesday, June 6th] at Norwood District High School. Susan Cooper, of Peterborough, was re-elected Vice-President of the Conservation Foundation.
Good is pleased to announce the following appointments to the Board of Directors for 2007-08:
- Mr. Bill Duke and Mr. Ron Scott (Asphodel-Norwood Township);
- Mr. John Cavanagh (Smith-Ennismore-Lakefield Township);
- Mr. Andy Harjula (Cavan-Millbrook-North Monaghan Township);
- Mr. Terry Guest and Ms. Sue Mattucci (Douro-Dummer Township);
- Mr. Robert Rehder, Mr. Paul Crough, Mr. Ron Lang, Ms. Kathryn Campbell, Ms. Danielle Dumoulin and Ms. Julie Simard (City of Peterborough).
Good operates a communications and fund-raising consulting firm, Good Communication, and is a resident of Douro-Dummer Township. Good represents the municipality on the Board of Directors of the Otonabee Region Conservation Authority.
The Otonabee Region Conservation Foundation was established in 1968. The late Mrs. Christine Nornabell [of Peterborough] was the founding Chair of the Board, which defined the conservation focus of the Foundation’s activities. In partnership with the Otonabee Region Conservation Authority, its community partners and volunteers, the Conservation Foundation operates the historic Hope Mill for public demonstrations and educational tours, supports the annual tree planting and forestry education program, organizes the annual Earth Day Jackson Creek Clean-Up and advances watershed health through the protection and acquisition of environmentally significant lands.
