The 49th Annual General Meeting of the Otonabee Region Conservation Authority will be held Thursday, January 17th, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in the Town Hall of the Municipality of Douro-Dummer. Members of the watershed community are invited to attend.

The agenda for the evening will include the election of the Chair and Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors and the election of the Executive Committee, as well as appointments to various Boards and Committees associated with the Conservation Authority.

The meeting will also feature a presentation by Meredith Carter entitled, “Watershed Management Practices – A European Perspective”. Carter is the Manager of Environmental Services for the Conservation Authority. Carter has just returned from a two-month fellowship with the Ecologic Institute for European and International Policy in Berlin, Germany. While in Germany, Carter was a member of an international team working on a variety of projects related to the implementation of the European Water Framework Directive, the Water Information System for Europe, and conducting an investigation of European watershed management programs and policies.

The Town Hall is located at 894 South Street in Warsaw.
